I was initially involved on a single shot: a rotoscope and removal of Lexie to be replaced by a hologram texture.
After completion of the project I decided to rework FUIs and the MV Title Card for Pixomondo Shanghai (proactive internal). As the theme of the song was about Reality vs Simulation I had to invent a coherent visual concept: Lexie Liu as a captive to a fictional tech-corporation. At first I conceptualised a technology using our “Reptilian Brain” to enter a Simulation. I had a great time developing the visuals later on.
The overall direction is inspired by video games, Western, gritty retro-sci-fi merged with acid graphics, cyber-goth and brutalist design trends.
